Description
I cannot make you understand. I cannot make anyone understand what is happening inside me. I cannot even explain it to myself.” ― Franz Kafka
Monarchs undertake incredible journeys every year from Mexico all the way up to Canada. There is an entire lifecycle in their journey. Every spring, monarch butterflies leave their overwintering sites in Mexico and slowly make their way north to the United States and Canada. Along the way they search for milkweed on which to lay their eggs, as it is the only food monarch caterpillars (larvae) can eat. It will take several months and two to three generations for the butterfly to find its way north, culminating in a ‘super generation’ butterfly, which will ultimately make the amazing return back to Mexico in the fall.
This is my tribute to their story. In the shape of a wing this piece is a show-stopper.
