Connections Cloisonne Enamel Collar

Past, present, future, through all of our senses, we touch one another. We see something that sparks an idea. We hear something that makes us grow. Teachers from past share their gifts with students of present. The lips in this piece can also be interpreted as hearts representing how the spoken word can touch someone’s hearts. We never know how these connections will happen, but they do. This particular piece illuminates the connections we can make through our thoughts.

The idea was born from imagining how we are connected through out senses. I approached it from a cubist style because different senses often are more dominant.

I enameled a “sketch” of each individual component to match the front on the back. So as I created the setting, I made sure to keep it visible!

This collar was a runner up in an international jewelry contest.

Materials: Vitreous enamel, fine silver, Sterling Silver, 24k gold
