Painting with Enamels

March 15, 22, 29, April 5 & 12, 2025

Take your art into a whole new direction by learning how to paint with enamel. Enamel is an ancient art form whereby ground glass is fused onto metal in extreme heat. You’ll learn what enamel is and how it differs from other painting mediums. You will learn how to apply the enamel through two exercises. The third project will allow you to use these enamels to create a deep, rich, and colorfast work of art. Finally, you will learn how to mount your enameled piece to walk out with a piece of hangable art. All skill levels are welcome; no experience necessary!

Offered through the University of Utah’s Lifelong Learning program. Hosted at the Salt City Smithery.
