Creating a Sacred Space to Welcome Creativity

Creating a Sacred Space to Welcome Creativity

Inviting Her Into Your Home

Imagine being Creativity and wanting to visit someone who will be the vessel through which you bring ideas to life. What kind of space feels inviting to you? What kind of reception would you like? I treat my Creative Muse as an honored guest when I welcome her into my space. This is how I create a sacred space to welcome creativity.

I can hear my muse whispering tenderly in my ear. There is a story that wants to be told, and I’m merely its chosen vessel.

~Dipa Sanatani

Setting Up the Space

I start by lighting a candle and adding the appropriate essential oil into the diffuser. Some days I use soothing, calming oils; some days I use high energy oils. It all depends on how my muse is presenting herself. Then I clear off my work surfaces from any distracting debris; we both want plenty of room for her ideas to flow. I bring out various metal shapes along with my enamel color tiles. We both love letting the colors speak. Finally, I bring forth my tools. I store many of them in vessels created by other artists. Their creative energy comes through those pieces making the space even more inviting.

And then I get quiet…

Sometimes the quiet lasts for a long time as the muse looks at colors and shapes. Most of the time, though, the quiet is merely seconds before my muse is offering ideas. Sometimes I’m moving so quickly assuring I make note of all of the things she wants me to bring forth.

I Become Her Vessel

From that point, we work together. I often feel that this body is the vessel for her to pour her energies into. My hands become her hands and my eyes locate the components to allow her vision to come to life.

Remember Gratitude

Of course, after a session together, I thank her for visiting me and send her off with little tokens of love. I remind her she is always welcome. Below you can see some of our collaborations. Follow the links to purchase

Sacred Geometry Finding Connections

Sacred Geometry Finding Connections

“Everything in the universe is connected, including our thoughts, feelings, and actions. This is the foundation of psychic phenomena.”

~Lynn A. Robinson

Why are connections important?

Connections are an integral part of all of our lives. We are social beings who thrive on building connections with people, places, and things around us. It is no wonder that our art and creations reflect this need for connection.

It starts with finding balance

Finding balance is a reminder to slow down and take stock of one’s life. We often get so caught up in the daily grind that we forget to take care of ourselves. It is important to find balance in life and take time for oneself. I often look at the balance and symmetry found in nature as a starting point.

Communing with our ancestors

We can find connections in the spiritual world through those who have passed on. There are links we have with our ancestors and other beings from beyond this realm. They are a reminder that we are all connected and that we can tap into the wisdom of those who have gone before us.

Finding clarity by “seeing” what you want

It is essential to have a clear understanding of our connections to the world around us, both tangible and intangible. Having a clear vision allows us to see beyond the surface and delve deeper into the connections that shape our lives. By having a clear vision, we can create deeper, more meaningful connections that bring beauty and purpose to our lives. We can see with clarity and to appreciate the connections that make our lives whole.

Using talismans to make these connections

I personally love to wear jewelry that acts as a reminder of the connections we have with ourselves, the natural world, and the spiritual realm. They are a celebration of the beauty that comes from these connections and a reminder that we are never truly alone. I use the pieces as touchstones to ground myself if I  find myself getting out of balance.

As we navigate through life, it is essential to remember that we are not isolated beings. We are connected to the world around us, and these connections shape who we are and what we create. May you be inspired to find new connections and celebrate the ones you already have.

Do you want to form stronger connections?

Every piece of jewelry I create was created with an intention. Sacred geometry, circles, triangles, symbols, all combined to make those connections stronger. You can find your special piece here.

Wearing Amulets as Protection

Wearing Amulets as Protection

“Amulets are believed to have the power to protect the wearer from harm and bring good fortune, but it is the faith and intention of the wearer that truly activates their power.”

~Avia Venefica

What is an Amulet?

An amulet is an object that is believed to possess magical or protective powers, and has been used by many cultures and religions throughout history. The use of amulets for protection dates back to ancient times, and continues to be practiced in many parts of the world today.

Why Wear an Amulet?

One of the most common reasons people use amulets is for protection against negative energies, evil spirits, and other harmful forces. Amulets can be made from a wide range of materials, such as stones, metals, wood, and even animal parts. They may also be engraved with symbols, prayers, or other sacred texts that are believed to offer protection.

Carrying that Connection with You

The belief in the power of amulets for protection is based on the idea that everything in the universe is connected and that all things have energy. By wearing an amulet, you can tap into this energy and use it to protect yourself from harm. The amulet serves as a physical reminder of the protection it provides.

Made with a healing intention

If you are considering using an amulet for protection, it is important to choose one that resonates with your beliefs and to use it with respect and intention. Here are some powerful amulets for your consideration.

How to Find Your Personal Style

How to Find Your Personal Style

Style as a matter of attitude, attitude, attitude, but you have to possess individuality to have an attitude. You can’t be like everybody else and copy what everybody else is doing.

~Iris Apfel

5 ways to find your personal style

Think of a person who you immediately can say – “that person knows her style.” They know what they like and they put it together so well. How do they do it? Do you feel like you don’t have a personal style? I bet you do but didn’t realize it. Here are some tips on finding your personal style.

  1. Look to your own history: What did you like to wear as a child or teenager? What styles have you always been drawn to? Consider your own past fashion choices and see if there are any patterns or themes that can help define your personal style. What colors are you drawn to?
  2. Think about your lifestyle: Your personal style should be practical and suit your everyday needs. Consider your profession, hobbies, and other activities you participate in when determining what types of clothing and accessories will work best for you.
  3. Experiment with different styles: Don’t be afraid to try out different looks and see what feels comfortable and authentic to you. You may find that you enjoy a more classic, timeless look, or that you prefer something more edgy and contemporary.
  4. Take inspiration from others: It’s okay to look to others for inspiration, but be sure to put your own spin on things and make the style your own. Consider your own body type, skin tone, and other personal characteristics when adapting a look from someone else.
  5. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes: It’s natural to make fashion mistakes as you experiment with different styles. Don’t let this discourage you – instead, use it as an opportunity to learn and grow.

Remember that personal style is an ongoing process and it’s okay to make changes and try new things as you go. Your jewelry choices can reflect your personal preferences.
